2018 birth year plays 7v7 (6+1), 2019 plays 6v6 (5+1). We follow how youth leagues across Europe will play in the new season.
We have slightly updated the Kings Cup 2027 formats for the youngest age groups.
From the new season, many football federations across Europe are moving players born in 2018 to the 6+1 format. We are following this trend: at the Kings Cup, children should play exactly the way they play at home in their own leagues — in a familiar format, on the right-sized pitch and with the number of players their coaches prepare them for. And more players on the pitch means more touches of the ball, more combinations and more real football.
Kings Cup 2027 formats: U-12, U-11 and U-10 (born 2015–2017) play 8v8 (7+1), U-9 (born 2018) plays 7v7 (6+1) and U-8 (born 2019) plays 6v6 (5+1).
Everything else stays the same: 23–25 April 2027, Tallinn, the central football base of Estonia. Entries already submitted remain valid — there is nothing you need to change.
Entries are open. We look forward to welcoming your teams in Tallinn!
